All of our consulting medical professionals are registered in Indonesia and have Western training. We also work with well-established general practitioners and psychiatrists who have years of experience working with people with drug and alcohol problems. Our strong links with the state-of-the-art Bali International Medical Clinic (BIMC) and Siloam Hospital means that an international medical care is always close at hand.

Richard Smith

Richard is the founder of the Seasons Bali and he specialises in addictive behaviour. After 17 years of active addiction, Richard found recovery in 1985. Inspired by his own experiences, he has spent his entire recovery working with addicts, alcoholics and their families.

Richard held various positions in major health care institutions in Victoria, Australia before starting his own facility, the Hader Clinic, in 1997. His vision had always been to create a program that would treat drug and alcohol problems holistically. What started as a counselling practice eventually grew into one of the country’s most respected addiction treatment centres.

Recognising a need for a program that provided a more exclusive service, and having experienced the idyllic surrounds and healing energy of Bali, Richard founded Seasons Bali. Richard is a dedicated and gifted practitioner who has helped many people change their lives.

Bethany Howsley

Master of Clinical Psychology

Bethany brings a comprehensive background of knowledge and experience into her sessions with clients. Bethany obtained her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology in Perth, Western Australia and since then has worked as a psychologist in both private practice and non-for-profit settings. She believes that the supportive exploration of personal challenges in a safe and nurturing environment allows for clients to experience personal growth, create positive changes in their lives, and improve their overall wellbeing.

Bethany is vastly trained in the field of mindfulness and, along with therapy, assists her clients in developing skills to help them lead a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. Bethany largely works from a holistic framework and understands the important relationship between our mental health and physical health.

Seasons Bali Program Coordinator

Gus Roberts

BA Business Studies, Certificate IV AOD (Alcohol and other Drugs), Certificate IV Mental Health

 

Gus brings a passion for recovery and invaluable experience to his role as Program Coordinator. He worked extensively in the world of finance before finding recovery in 2012. After some time as a support worker at Seasons Bali, he moved across to manage the charity program, YBS (Yayasan Bali SuaraHati).

Following this, with the support of Seasons Hader, he gained a Certificate IV AOD (Alcohol and other Drugs), Certificate IV Mental Health and progressed to the Program Coordinator role at Seasons, which he held from 2013 until January 2017. Over the past few years scores of clients have passed through the rehabilitation centre and Gus cites one of the best things about his job as being part of their transformation.

Having taken a year’s sabbatical he returned to join the team again in January 2018. Futhermore hei s halfway through a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Social Sciences and Psychotherapy which he plans to follow up with a Masters.

Sandy Syraham

Sandy has been working with the Seasons team since 2012 and has risen through the ranks until assuming his current position. Before this he worked for an HIV foundation funded by the Australian government for 3 years. He has been in recovery since 2005 and loves to help people to find a new way of life. As a trainer, he passes on his knowledge to Indonesian workers in the recovery field, making sure this country benefits from the expertise brought here from abroad.

Dr Yasmin and the Puri Medical Team

 

Dr Yasmine studied medicine because she is passionate about neurological science and was amazed by how simple changes in the brain chemistry could affect an individual’s wellbeing. She graduated from Hasanuddin University, one of the top medicine faculties in Southeast Asia in 2012 and has additional qualifications in emergency medicine and withdrawal management.

Before coming to Bali in 2014 to take up her current position she worked on many of the islands across the Indonesian archipelago gathering excellent experience in tropical infections, emergency medicine and metabolic diseases.

Dr Yasmin has been working with Seasons’ clients for the last 3 years and loves being a part of what she calls: “the wonderful Seasons family” and takes great pleasure in being a part of the recovery process and watching each client improve.

Chininta Amatia (Chichi)

 

Chici is a skilled nurse who has been working with Seasons since 2014 and has gained valuable experience working with addicts and alcoholics. She really enjoys doing this job because she loves to see the change in people and says it makes her really proud. After qualifying at Jember Nursing Academy in 2008, she moved to Bali and went to work in Singaraja at Rumah Sakit Kerta Usada. Following this she took a position as a general nurse at BMIC Hospital, one of the most reputable here on the island, and worked there between 2010 and 2012. Finally, before joining us she worked at Kasih Ibu Hospital from 2012 to 2013.

Amanda Jane Williams

Hypnotherapy, NLP Practitioner, THETA Trauma Therapist, Ayurvedic Nutritionist, Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor 

 

A former professional dancer, Amanda Jane inspires her students to discover their own personal journey and awaken their spiritual energy through the practice of yoga, breath work, exercise and meditation.

Over the last 14 years, Amanda Jane has trained extensively with internationally acclaimed yoga teachers. Her training includes Power Yoga, Iyengar, Hatha and Vinyasa Flow as well as Reiki and Theta healing.

Amanda Jane’s teaching focuses on removing each client’s limiting belief systems that have direct links to addiction, depression and anxiety.  Her sessions intertwine tools such as Theta Healing, transformational coaching, yoga and meditation, body alignment, and nutrition. Bobi has been with Seasons Bali since day one and is an indispensable member of the team. His management experience, business management training and organisational skills have helped the program and the company grow and develop into the success it is today. He completed his Bachelor degree in Business Administration in 2010 and is currently completing his MBA.

He also runs a charity organisation called Yayasan Gunung Pahlengkong, which is focussed on conservation, recycling and education in the North West region of Bali.

Wayan Muliawan (Muli)

Bachelor of Technology

 

Muli originally qualified from Stikom Bali, the premier college for technology on the island and had a successful career in selling computers before moving into his current role at the beginning of 2016. He is responsible for managing the day to day running of the property, including the fleet of Indonesian staff and dealing with requests from clients. He said: ‘I like working at Seasons because we are like one big family, everyone is really friendly and helpful’.

Windy Puspitasari

Windy started working at Seasons in early 2015 after a short spell working for an IT company in Surabaya and has a degree in Information Engineering from UPN Veteran in East Java. She is responsible for dealing with client’s cash, visas, organising arrival and departures and generally ensuring the smooth running of many of the behind the scenes aspects of the rehab.

Komang has a wealth of experience in cooking delicious, nutritious meals and especially enjoys working at Seasons because of the focus on using fresh, healthy, locally sourced ingredients. He began working as a commis chef in 2003 and rapidly progressed through the ranks working at the world renowned beach club Kudeta from 2005 until 2007 before taking a position on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Here he achieved his American qualification and extended his repertoire to include Japanese Fusion, Italian, European and Indian dishes. He has been working at Seasons Bali since 2011 and loves seeing the difference that his dishes make to the health and wellbeing of the clients here.
